General Advice

When trying anything new, it's best to start small; and latex is no different. Not everyone is a good fit for latex fashion due to factors beyond their control. Before going all out, review the following considerations for starting out small.

Allergens

Some people are allergic to latex. Have you handled latex previously? Though many people have come into contact with latex in their life, it is common for people to find out they have an allergic reaction to latex after buying an expensive catsuit or other garment.

If you do not know if you have a latex allergy, talk to your doctor, or buy something less expensive, like a pair of latex gloves.

Budget

Remember that quality counts. It is not recommended to purchase items of lesser quality in an effort to test the waters. Latex is an unforgiving material. Defects in the quality of your items will affect your experience drastically.

Let's be real: latex is not cheap.

Before breaking the bank on a large item that you may only wear once, consider browsing some of the smaller latex items available to you. Gloves, underwear, harnesses, and hoods can provide an introductory experience without emptying your wallet.

Latex Requires Maintenance

Latex is not like other clothing. In addition to purchasing your first latex item, be sure to also purchase the required maintenance materials. At the very least, you will need:

  • Shine
    • Latex does not arrive shiny you must make it that way.
    • Latex will stick to itself like glue. If you forget the shine, you will end up with something resembling a ball of spent tape.
  • Dressing Aid
    • Remember latex is rubber. The reason we use rubber for tires is its impeccable ability to stick to things. Your skin is no exception.
